I need to do more with this site :/ I may have to pester Tk about changing things a bit here (again @.@) and see if I can display some more than just me ranting everything now and then on a blog ^^;

immaturity

December 28th, 2008

I’m so fucking sick of immaturity. I know I’m not perfect, but after I get a chance to return to normal, I take a step back and acknowledge that I’ve done or said something stupid and immature.

So I got upset and said some stupid things on WWS, I admit that. It was trivial things, but enough to upset my already frustrated mind (I got sick yesterday, day after Christmas, lovely, isn’t it?). After cooling off, though I do admit I sent some things that could probably be called bitchy and nasty, I tried to IM the person that I feel I’ve wronged. I sent this whole long thing about how sorry I was for acting bitchy and immature, blah blah, and explained why and got nothing. Okay fine, maybe she wanted time to just work it out. But no, things have managed to get worse.

She’s now trying to drag her OOC problems with me into the IC field. Making my character (who’s only doing her job) look like a bitchy, moronic, ass and overall seeming to try and translate her anger at me toward my character. Though I begin to wonder sometimes if people aren’t beginning to associate me (the player) with my character, sine I use her name as my OOC name. And, I’ll admit, she’s not the greatest wolf out there - she makes mistakes, and does stupid things sometimes, but now suddenly she’s coming up with ways to really, well, screw me over it seems.

I tried to apologize again, as things heated up once more when she got pissy about a reply I made to a thread. Got nothing over AIM, so sent her a PM and still haven’t received anything back. I’m so irritated about this whole situation. I’m trying to be nice, trying to apologize and acknowledge my stupidity, but she’s just not even trying to listen to me. I’m also just frustrated that I really don’t know what I’ve done to alienate her so much. Like, I get this feeling that it’s something else and I really just don’t know what and her not speaking to me really doesn’t do anyone any good.

I’m just so annoyed and so frustrated, that I had to get this out to try and clear my head so I can go to bed and maybe get a good night’s sleep and fight off this damn cold.

holidays and memphis

December 24th, 2008

I’m going to be going to Memphis here soon (:

We leave at 8:30pm EST on the 30th, and then I’ll be spending the 31st through the 2nd in Memphis, then the 3rd for travel back home.

January 2nd, and 5pm EST will be the 50th Liberty Bowl in Memphis, TN. It’ll be on ESPN, so, um, watch it and root for the Pirates ;D

So, obviously, I’ll be spending New Year’s with the band over this trip, and will be gone for a bit, but since I hate actually being away from my computer for too long, I plan to bring it with me in hopes of getting free wi-fi - if I do, I might be able to post once or twice in a night, depending on how tired I am, etc.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Tulsa

December 7th, 2008

First thing’s first: WE WON! That’s right, bitch, we won!

This means that we’re going to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, TN on Jan. 2. I can’t wait. We leave on the 30th of this month and will have our Band Banquet and spend New Years together, which will be interesting. Then we come back on the 3rd and then classes start on the 9th x.x

But, I think I want to start from the beginning.

We left on Friday afternoon. We left the school at about 4:45 and then traveled to the airport that’s about 30 or so minutes from us. Once we got there, we unloaded our stuff onto the baggage train, then headed in for the security check and such. At about 7:00 the plane took off. It was nice, a chartered flight, so it was just us (the band & staff, cheerleaders & mascot, and some Pirate Club members - aka important people to the football team xD). The flight took about 2 and a half hours and we were served Subway on the flight, which was pretty nice.

Once we got there, we checked into the hotel and spent forever finding our rooms. The place was nice enough, but it was almost impossible to get to our rooms - the hotel is longer than it is wide, and therefore it was killer to try to get from one end to the other in a reasonable about of time. I swear, it took myself and my roomies about 10 minutes to get from our room to the lobby for breakfast in the morning x.X At any rate, the next morning we got to Tulsa University at about 9 or 9:30 and sat around for an hour or so.

The school itself is small and reminds me of Christopher Newport - not pretty. The stadium was tiny too, and their band was smaller than our pep band (which consisted of 150 members of a 250+ normally sized band). Therefore we were, like, the only thing you could hear in the stadium.

Let me tell you - the game pretty much sucked. Everything was slanted in Tulsa’s favor. EVERYONE was prepared for them to win, blah blah, and it was just quiet in the stadium when we weren’t playing or screaming our heads off (my friend lost her voice today after that yesterday and my throat’s been really gunky, I don’t think I’ve ever yelled that much at a football game before, lol). Their fans sucked major ass - there’s no other way to put it. They were horrible, and showed a great amount of unsportsmanlike like conduct. Oh, and on the note of expecting to win - they made this announcement at the beginning of the game stating that fans were to wait 5 minutes after the game was done (aka after the presentation of the bow invitation) before RUSHING the field. How fucking presumptuous is that? And I only say that because there were less than 200 ECU fans there, and we learned our lesson after the West Virginia game about rushing the field (plus the fans that were there were older and not currently attending ECU as a student and the ones that rushed the field in the WV game were all students currently attending the school). Fucking retarded if you ask me. Plus, plus, the refs were all making GAME CHANGING calls in favor of Tulsa. Well in your FUCKING FACE TULSA we WON. Despite your well paid refs and just idiocy and horribleness, WE FUCKING WON. I HOPE C-USA FINES YOUR ASSES.

That’s right - the fine for unsportsmanlike conduct. And boy were they filled with it, holy mother of god. The game was televised on ESPN 2, aka literally thousands of people were watching this game and you could here ON THE TV one of their fans. A player of ours had gotten hurt for the third time in the game. Meaning he had walked off the first two to get back in and keep playing and one of the TU fans had the NERVE to SHOUT “get your pansy ass off the field”. No fucking lie - it was pathetic. Once, they started CLAP when one of our players was SERIOUSLY hurt. I’m pretty sure that kid’s on the injured list right now, so it’s nothing to fucking CLAP about. Every other time the booed because they assumed our player was just staying down to keep the clock rolling or some shit. Ha. They were the only ones that did that when we were tied in the last couple minutes of the game.

But guess what? Despite all the bad shit we got at that game, the horrible fans, and just the overall nastiness - we triumphed. We won out and are the 2008 Conference USA Champions.

Tulsa University can kiss my ass.

I’M PIRATE FOR FUCKING EVER, AND PROUDER THAN EVER.

stuff

November 25th, 2008

Well, the past 24 hours have really been hell for me - to say the least. Shortly after dinner last night, I got really sick and was throwing up, among other issues. I was getting up every 2 hours or so with problems and go so little sleep. I then had to take a test in my Exercise class (stupid, right? x.x) and I felt fine for a good part of that. I was sipping some ginger tea and it was really seeming to help, and my dad came and got me and drove me back to my room so I could get packed and we could head out and it all went to hell from there. I started to throw up again, which I’ve discovered sucks ass when you have nothing in your stomach to throw up @.@ I also started to get stomach cramps and was in pain all over. We grabbed some food for him and saltines for me for the road and eventually got underway when we were sure I wasn’t going to throw up again. Which, thankfully, I didn’t, but it was a long 4 hours home.

I was finally able to eat something by the time we got home and have been feeling much better. I still need to go easy on my stomach, but my only problems right now are the achyness. I feel like the Lyme Disease is back, even though I know it’s just a side effect of my problems. I’m on vicodin at the moment, though, so feeling a ton better xD

Buuuuuuuuuuuuut in better news - I get to go to the conference game on the 6th! We’re not sure if we’re going to Tulsa or Houston yet, though most likely the latter. It’s going to be great, though. Our athletic department got a plane exclusively for us (as well as some various spirit groups, but it’s only going to be ECU people) which means it’s a direct flight and they control departure times and all that. They also have everything paid for for us - rooms, food, etc. It’s going to be soo much fun. It also means we’re going to either be going to the Liberty Bowl in Memphis or the GMAC Bowl in Mobile. I absolutely can’t wait - this year’s been so awesome.

Unfortunately, I need to be back at school by 11 on Friday - which means getting my ass up at 4 or 5 in the morning so we can get there on time. The show’s going to be killer, though, and I can’t wait. I’m glad I decided to come to this game, rather than sitting it out and staying at home - even if it means I’ll be stuck by myself Friday and Saturday (after my suitemate goes back home).

At any rate, playing catch up on stuff when you’ve only been gone a day really isn’t fun, but that’s also the joy of such an amazing site like WWS =D

reviewing

November 11th, 2008

I’ve ranted about this before and on other places, but once again I’m brought to frustration on this matter. This time, for a different reason.

So, I received a comment on a story I’ve been working on. Okay, fine, cool, whatever. I didn’t expect much from it since it seems to be too much to ask to get a good review now a days, but what irked me was the end of the message that was like “oh, please read and review some of my stories - I think you’ll like them!” um excuse me, but I’ll choose what I want to read and what I want to submit a review to. Giving a half assed comment on my work to advertise your own is pretty damn petty and shallow.

I’m getting to the point where I’m going to disable commenting where I can, and ignore others where I can’t disable the commenting/reviewing. I may also try to open my own writing community and encourage advanced reviewing and things like that.

On another note, I’m irked at this other site. I’ve been a member there for 3 years now. Now I haven’t been around in a while, but I do go on periodically and try to submit work. Well apparently since the last time I was on, they changed some things and I can’t seem to submit anything I have because it’s “too short”. Excuse me, but I’ll decide whether my work is “too short”. Besides, one of the things I submitted was a prologue, when have prologues to a story ever been long? The other was formatted to be like a journal (which was made very clear) and not only was I told it was way too short, I was told that it was formatted improperly. What the hell? I know there are ‘formal’ ways to format things, but as an author, I’m free to take the liberties that I like with my works. Just look at Poe, or EE Cummings - successful and well known writers that didn’t always follow the ’standard’ way of doing things. When I do something in a certain way, I do it because that’s how I feel the story is best done and now I’m having these asses tell me that my stuff isn’t formatted right or long enough and therefore they can’t possibly publish them on their site.

They can go screw themselves. I’m sick of close minded, petty people.

better

November 10th, 2008

Doing a bit better overall. I know I was snappy and short with people yesterday and I never really intended to be. But considering some of the things that went on yesterday, I was on edge.

At any rate, I woke up this morning feeling like shit, and had to suffer through a Spanish test that I’m pretty sure everyone failed D: I took a nap when I got back and do feel better, but my ankle and head are still bothering me from Saturday, and advil really hasn’t helped.

So, here’s to hoping I don’t fall apart at the seams before I Thanksgiving in a couple weeks.
